We are also pleased to partner again with the Ashley Whippet Invitational Tour of qualifying events.  This event will run in parallel with our Flying Disc Challenge on Saturday to give teams more to strive for if they dare.  You can also register for the AWI Qualifier and an opportunity to qualify for the Ashley Whippet Invitational World Championships which will be held in Gray Summit, MO at Purina Farms on Sep 29th and Sep 30th 2012.  The top 5 qualifying teams at each AWI Tour stop will be invited to the Finals.

*Note*: Only teams that are registered in the Flying Disc Challenge Open Freestyle Division will be allowed to enter the AWI Qualifier for an additional entry fee.
** Our club has decided to offer a $10 discount for those teams that Pre-Register online for the Challenge Open division and AWI Qualifier.  **
*** Advanced Accuracy Division will only allow a maximum of 50 total entries for time sake.  Dogs entered in the Quadruped may not compete in the advanced accuracy division.

Saturday Event Schedule:

Competition Format:

  • AWI Throw & Catch Division will be guaranteed one round of traditional Throw & Catch and then a cut for a 2nd round.  A portion of the entry fees collected will be awarder to the winner while all other proceeds will be donated for the 2011 AWI Finals Event.  *Note* AWI T&C Field has different scoring zones this year: 15 yds, 25 yds, 35 yds
  • Novice Throw & Catch Division will have 2 rounds of traditional Throw & Catch (T & C).  Traditional scoring zones: 10, 20, 30, 40yds.
  • Open Freestyle Divisions will have 1 Round of Freestyle and 1 Round of Advanced Accuracy.  Open Freestyle will have up to 120 seconds (2 minutes).  Up to nine approved discs of your choice (no Humphrey Flyers or Floppy fabric discs please!)
  • Intermediate Freestyle Divisions will have 1 Round of Freestyle and 1 Round of traditional Throw & Catch.  Intermediate Freestyle will have up to 90 seconds (minute and a half).  Up to nine approved discs of your choice (no Humphrey Flyers or Floppy fabric discs please!)
  • Ashley Whippet Invitational Freestyle Scoring will be utilized for this event – Dog, Human, Team, Overall, Catch Ratio.
  • Teams also entered in the AWI Qualifier will use the same Freestyle Round 1 score as the Open Freestyle division for the Challenge.  Round 2 will be a traditional Throw & Catch (T & C) round.  Teams also entered in Total Performance will also use this same score for Round 1.  *Note* AWI T&C Field has different scoring zones this year: 15 yds, 25 yds, 35 yds.
